ughhh yeah
I should actually be doing my research prospectus on Nixon but I got sidetracked lolleygagging around on the web and talking to myself. what else is new? hmmmmmm. I have a cat named Berry Lincoln. He's pretty cool. Sometimes he talks to me, but then I realize its my house-mate, Dave Roukema pretending to be Mr. Lincolns voice box. Berry Lincoln farts sometimes and it really smells bad and makes you less inclined to keep him on your lap. But all in all berry Lincoln is a bad ass - he likes people and people in turn like berry lincoln. He hasn't killed any mice yet but he's killed at least four good sized elephants so far. We'll keep him around I think.
As for school? Well, how can you complain with the grades I'm getting? Wait, some people aren't happy with getting lots of C's? well I guess I can see that. But if A's are for Acedemic excellence than C's are for Chris. Either way....
Well if your as bored as I am by now than we better both think of something better to do. I'm gonna go work on some more Nixon stuff now I guess. Here is some of what I have so far. Who am I writing to right now? I'll never know
Watergate: this is not only a word that most of us certainly know, a word we keep forgetting to forget, a word we associate with Nixon and political corruption, but also a word so filthy with negative connotations and stigma that the actual historical context behind the word is often forgotten. Is Richard Nixon that bad of a guy or is he just super ugly? I have often wondered why so many people, including myself have a negative view of Nixon and the events surrounding Watergate. This is what developed my initial interest in exploring this topic.
I see a very ugly man when I picture Richard Nixon in my mind; I see saggy jowls flapping back and forth, a stiff composure, darting eyes, and an audible, “I am not a crook.” This is also the image we might see in a lot of political cartoons poking fun of Richard Nixon. This stereotype (however humorious or quasi-truthful it may be) regarding the Nixon presidency and the scandalous events surrounding Nixon’s time in office, deserves a more in-depth evaluation.
