In Asking
In Asking
In asking do we every apply
good sense to our thinking
If we simply ask anything?
The schools give points to ask questions
what happened to answer?
So by and by we tend to our charade
hold it closer to our hearts
then we do our Bibles
But this is the information age
Go on,
get lost in it
The schools give points for questions
What the hell happened to answers
Here is your cellphone, your wallet, your credit cards, i-d cards and drugs,
your keys, your i-pod, your Georges and Lincolns
Faster than fury
We set the pace
I think I'd like it
if planes were cars
and cars were skateboards, bikes, and roller-blades
I wish my house was set upon K2,
And my city beneath it
I would Ski every day,
down to it.
I'd never get tired
Live everyday...
Like an overgrown child
But, like everyone else
I'm just battling for points
Trying to get the highest points
Every day I see
Game Over
Game Over
While the world turns over
Advancing another level
Game Over
Game Over
Should I start over?
I wanna try a new game
One that is older
Cause it makes me feel younger
More sober,
less colder
Stress becomes us
When we embrace it
But, you don't have to worry
Invite all your thoughts
to a tea party in new england
Sure, you've been there
keep in mind,
your thoughts can go anywhere!
To The foothills of your ancestors
to the shores of your made up land
your Terabithia awaits you
Life is funny when you think of Duck Soup
Say Stupid things,
Laugh at Jokes with no meaning
I remember when I,
Would have such conversations
With my cousin,
Jason FinK:
"Hello Govenor."
"Nice day for a Purple Tuesday with an umbrella on the top."
"Sure is. Say. Do you have any matches in your sleeve?"
"only when the clocks strike orange will I have room for another snack like that."
"The grey apples were chasing me again today"
"you do say? Well it's no wonder. You got space potatoes under your eye."
"So I see you too have traveled the up, down slides, kazoos, and radio active sun dried tomatoes too."
"Ahhh. Tis true. Tis true."
Life is such a falter
When we stop thinking
thinking we can't alter
In asking do we every apply
good sense to our thinking
If we simply ask anything?
